Meet the Team

Founder, Lawyer, Mediator, Arbitrator
Sam Maroney
Sam Maroney holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Victoria (2018) and a Bachelor of Arts with Distinction from the University of Alberta (2014). He was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2020. Sam is a family lawyer who appears regularly in the Provincial and Supreme Courts of British Columbia. He has experience in divorce, separation, child support, spousal support, parenting issues, property division, family violence, relocation, and Ministry of Children and Family Development involvement. ​ He earned his Q. Arb designation in 2020 and became an Accredited Family Law Mediator in 2025. He articled at Woodward & Company from 2018 to 2019, with a focus on Aboriginal Law in regulatory and court proceedings. He also articled at the Rise Women’s Legal Centre in 2017, where he assisted low-income women in need of legal support. ​ Outside of work, Sam enjoys spending time with his fiancée and two dogs, gardening, playing music, and participating in various local sports teams.

Heather McNeil
Heather McNeil has been working in the legal field since 2019, with experience in immigration, personal injury, and criminal law, and a particular passion for family law. She is committed to providing thoughtful, client-centred service and maintaining efficient, detail-oriented file management from start to finish. ​ Outside of work, Heather enjoys spending time with her two cats and being near the ocean.
